Among all atypical characters in myths and legends, Nezha is one of them who was so
special that he stayed in his mother’s belly for three years and was born with an
appearance of a gigantic ball of flesh. Nezha’s father is a military commander named
Li Jing, who thought that his wife had given birth to a demon and attacked the ball
with his sword. However, the moment the ball was split open, a lotus flower came out,
holding an infant who suddenly jumped out after yawning and stretching. The little
boy started to run in the room, wearing a pair of gold bracelets and with a red silk tied
round his body.
